When

21st, 22nd & 23rd November
Registrations Close Wednesday 19th November

Where
We have permission from Coronet Peak Station to shoot goats further into the station this year.

(If you are not familiar with the station, it extends right from Skippers Canyon to Arrowtown, Macetown, over the Mototapu and the back of Wanaka.)

This year, weather permitting we are looking to drive in via Macetown and stay and camp around Macetown overnight on the Friday and Saturday night.

This is a family friendly trip.

We plan to have a zoom briefing session on the Wed before - the link will be emailed to you the day before. (It is always the same one as the meeting links)

Transport
If you have not been to Macetown before, the track is rough, there are some river crossings (and big holes in the river) so a snorkel and 4WD experience is required.

This is a video of the Macetown track - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCTx2_mt4Ns

We are looking to arrange for experienced 4WD drivers to take members that don't have suitable vehicles. And if there are not enough drivers, we can charter Nomads 4WD company to take us in.

Leaving when?
There is an option to head in Friday or Saturday,  so please complete the questions in the registration so we can organise lifts and transport if needed, and a convoy if you are not familiar with the river

The plan is to leave Sunday afternoon

Cost?

$15 for a NZDA member ($100 for a non member), this covers club costs* and rental of safety equipment etc
* Club costs include paying for the registration software, the credit card fees and website hosting fees, as well as printing costs for H&S,  maps, signage etc

What to take
You will need to be self sufficient. Take your food, a tent and camping gear. And plenty of ammo, in the past, members have run out when they have come across a large mob of goats.

New members

If you are still waiting on your licence, we can put you with other members, all members and levels of experience welcome

Health and Safety
There will be a health and safety plan which everyone will need to read and sign before we head in.
Due to insurance, you need to be a current paid up member.
