This is a great chance for new members to go for a hunt with more experienced hunters and the chance to get to know a few club members over a whisky or beer round the table at night. These working bees are always a popular annual event
We generally do some cleaning, ongoing maintenance, wood chopping and this year some stoat trap maintenance, hut painting; and of course some hunting! To make the trip worth while (the helicopters are expensive) we are going to combine work required at both huts at the same time
The plan is that the Caples will be just the first weekend Friday 31st March to Sunday 2nd April, and the Greenstone between the 31st March and 10th April. We can only hunt at the Greenstone Hut but you could possibly do one weekend at the Caples and then get flown over to the Greenstone for some hunting time. Please specify your preference in the registration comments bits
CAPLES HUT We have to paint the Caples and do firewood so will need a team to head in there Lance has already volunteered
GREENSTONE At the Greenstone Paul Gaboda is flying in to replace the windows so we will need some help with that, we are also and do the trap work
We are currently gathering names for those keen and will organise helicopters in ($100 each way) or share rides etc
Helicopters are heading in/out:-
Sharon is away until the 24th March so we will finalise helicopter times and who is going when on her return - just let us know your requests or preferences via the registration form or email
Once we know who is interested we will email the times of the helicopters and further details on the weekend of the 26th March
