Roaring CompetitionThe annual roaring competition last meeting was very entertaining. We had a good number of entries this year. We were giggling so much we forgot to record them - but below is the results from the competition.
|
|
|
Winner: Nathan Wise 50 points 2nd place: Pete Henderson 44.5 points 3rd Place: Wayne Patterson 44 points

|
Comments on some judging forms made me smile... "Sounded constipated, Scared dog, yeti sounds, straining for a poop?"

Greenstone Hut and Steele Creek Hunting Trip
|
|
This is a great chance for new members to go for a hunt with more experienced hunters and the chance to get to know a few club members over a whisky or beer round the table at night. These working bees are always a popular annual event
We do some cleaning, general maintenance, wood chopping and this year some stoat trap maintenance; and of course some hunting!
This year the beginning of April falls over 2 weekend so there are plenty of opportunities to head to the hut. We normally helicopter in gas bottles and supplies and so there will be room if you want to help and hunt and/or fly fish while up there.
We have access to a few balloted spots available up Steele Creek during 1st - 10th April inclusive so if you are keen, we try our best to share these out among everyone helping out.
We are currently gathering names for those keen and will organise helicopters in ($100 each way) or share rides etc
Helicopters are heading in/out:-
- Friday 1st April
- Monday 4th April*
- Friday 8th April
- Sunday 10th April
(*This can be the Sunday if better for everyone)
Once we know who is interested we will email the times of the helicopters and further details.
