Roaring Competition

The annual roaring competition was very entertaining. We had record numbers of entries this year.

I was giggling so much I couldn't record them all - but below is a selection of the entries for the Roaring Competition.

The unbeaten champion and winner was Wayne Patterson

Nathan Wise came 2nd and Jakub Leder 3rd place

Members only access on website

Finally after months of hard work, the new membership system, website and new branding went live in November.

Although still a work in progress, some of the exciting features allows you to:-

  • Update your email address and personal info
  • Connect with others via the members directory (visable to members only)
  • Register for events and view this via your portal
  • Pay for your membership via credit card or internet banking
  • Access your membership card via your phone
  • And much more

Just log in at the top right of the website - if you don't have a password, click reset and it will be emailed to you.

Range Officer Course

We are running a course to be a range officer on Thursday 17th March at 6.30pm. You will need a firearms licence and some firearms experience, please register/text Jono on 027 450 7411

Further details are on the event page on the website.

Greenstone Hut Working Bee

This is a great chance for new members to go for a hunt with more experienced hunters and the chance to get to know a few club members over a whisky or beer round the table at night. These working bees are always a popular annual event

We do some cleaning, wood chopping and a few general maintenance jobs.

This year the beginning of April also falls over Easter so we are helicoptering in gas bottles and supplies and so there will be room if you want to help and hunt and/or fly fish while up there.

We have access to a few balloted spots available up Steele Creek during 1st - 10th April inclusive so if you are keen, we try best to share these out among everyone helping out.

We are currently gathering names for those keen and will organise helicopters in ($100 each way) or share rides etc

Helicopters are heading in/out:-

  • Thursday 1st April
  • Monday 5th April
  • Friday 9th April
  • Sunday 11th April

Once we know who is interested we will email the times of the helicopters and further details.

Register for the working bee

End of Summer BBQ and leaving Party

It will be an open invite to all NZDA members too.

He has booked a bouncy castle for the kids (and big kids). There will be some beers but plenty of meat, but bring a plate or dessert to share.
